Alex Reduction Block (1993)
Using the process of reduction block, the artist removes a portion of the material (in this case linoleum) during each step of the process to slowly create the image. After portions of the material are removed, it is then printed. This print is reprinted after each step is completed, slowly creating the finished piece. The final result is a highly detailed image which could not be achieved in a one step process.
