Direct Gravure - Leslie/Fingerprint

Glossary Term: A variation of the photogravure technique, developed by Chuck Close and master printer Deli Sacilotto while working on the fingerprint gravure portraits executed at Graphicstudio in Tampa, Florida in 1986. For fingerprint drawings on sheets of mylar. The image was then photographically transferred to a copper etching plate. See Leslie/Fingerprint, 1986.
